BEST SELLING AUTHOR JOINS DESERET NEWS AS CONTRIBUTOR

Today author Jeff Benedict joins The Deseret News as a columnist and blogger. His column debuted in the newspaper today [Link] and will also will appear online with enhanced graphics [link]. Benedict will also contribute a number of investigative feature stories for Deseret News.

In 2010, Benedict became a columnist for SI.com, which has 21 million unique users per month. His association with SI is unchanged by his new affiliation with Deseret News. He will now contribute to both.

The content for Benedict's Deseret News column will come from his increasingly popular blog that is currently distributed to thousands through his website www.jeffbenedict.com Deseret News will have the option to run these blogs as print columns or as enhanced blog posts on the Deseret News website.

"Blogging has become an important part of what I do," Benedict said. "It enables me to write about things that don't fit into my books or my SI.com columns. I'm pretty excited about distributing this material through Deseret News."

Currently,http://www.deseretnews.com/ has 2 million unique users and 30 million page views per month.

Benedict is a Connecticut native who resides in Virginia, where he teaches Writing and Mass Media at Southern Virginia University.
