When The Dynasty was published last fall I couldn’t do traditional book signings due to COVID. No bookstores were able to host in-store events. To improvise, I worked with dozens of booksellers throughout New England. We scrapped in-person author talks and question-and-answer sessions with readers. And I’m not a big fan of virtual events. Instead, I trekked around New England and set up on the street in front of bookstores. I talked to people one-on-one. It got cold. But New Englanders are a hardy bunch, and the bookstores fed me a steady stream of hot chocolate. I signed oodles of books between September and Christmas. Along the way, I met countless Patriots fans and plenty of fans of opposing teams. It was a ball.

Writing books is hard. But selling books is even harder.

Fortunately, here in New England we have so many independent bookstores. Even the names bleed New England – Yankee Bookshop, Books on the Common, Hickory Stick Book Shop, Elm Street Books, Northshire Bookstore. And there are classic names like R.J. Julia and Jabberwocky Bookshop and Savoy Bookshop & Café.

I look at all of these stores as business partners. And I view the women and men who run them as friends. That’s why I’m thrilled to partner with them again this fall for the release of the new paperback edition of The Dynasty.

Today we are announcing an in-person book tour that will kick off on September 7th at An Unlikely Story, a gem of a bookstore located a few miles from Gillette Stadium. That night I’ll be in conversation with Mike Lynch, the longtime sports anchor at WCVB Channel 5 in Boston.

The next night I’ll be at the United Theater in Westerly, Rhode Island, where I’ll be interviewed about the process of writing the book by Patriots Hall of Fame linebacker Andre Tippett. This event is being put on by Savoy Bookshop and Café. Then it’s on to Darien, Connecticut, where Barrett Bookstore will host a Dynasty tailgate party hours before Tom Brady and the Buccaneers kick off the NFL season in a nationally televised game against the Cowboys.

In addition to doing events with so many great bookstores, I’ll also be speaking at libraries, theaters, and inns. And there will be some larger-scale events, including a book signing at the Patriots Pro Shop on the weekend of Tom Brady’s return to Foxborough, a signing in the Putnam Club at Gillette Stadium on the day of the Cowboys-Patriots game, and a book event at the Patriots Hall of Fame. I’m even going to North Carolina for an event in the Outer Banks.

Here’s the tour schedule.
